The Eph's Log is an online community for Williams College.

Some of the things that you may find here:

-- A central source for professional news and other published items about alumni and the College.
-- News and other errata about the alumni and college,  submitted or made by Ephs,  for Ephs.
-- Aggregation of online items published by Ephs, online and in other media.

-- "Special Features,"  articles and media published "by Ephs,"  for an audience of Ephs.
-- An online archive for Eph-related memories,  reflections and memorabilian -- Ephemera
-- Ongoing Communities of Interest (COIs) such as Finance,  Sociology,  Technology and the Ephlats.

-- A Focus on Faculty Ideas and Discussions
-- A place for chatter,  meaningless but pleasant discussion,  even dissent and dramatic disagreement with each other and the College.
-- Cows.  Most of them,  Purple.

Please feel free to join in and add what you wish!   Emails to [email protected] will be answered as soon as we have a chance.

Finally,  above all,  the one thing that we not only ask but demand is that you pay some attention to what it is to engage in civil and respectful discourse.  The Eph's Log is a place for constructive discourse,   not bad behavior or insults towards other Ephs.

Eph -log (or EphBlog or ephBlog) is a collaborative effort among purple people to provide news, discussion and debate about anything and everything having to do with Williams College. Eph Log today is a site for all Ephs¹ to engage in discussion and sharing of All Things Eph².

What's that,  you say?  What's that?  How now purple cow! 

What we mean is,  Eph Log is what you make it.   Eph Log is what work or the "real world³" is not.  Eph Log is a place to sit down,  and do whatever you did in the Snack Bar.   Eph Log is a place to gather and chat -- it's the Log.  And it's also 'the Log' with Mark Hopkins at the other end,  an opportunity to engage in the lifelong project of self-education with others.

Most of all,  Eph Log is what you make of it.  Want news of Williams?  Sports commentary?  A place for political debate?  A mini-seminar on the aesthetics of early Soviet propaganda posters and their use of the color... blue?  (OK,  right.)   The point is it doesn't matter-- organize it.  Our staff are here to facilitate.
